Terms and Conditions

Please read my Terms and Conditions before booking your photo shoot. These are in place to protect my business and your own rights as my client. In the following, ‘the photographer’ refers to Sarah Louise Beck and ‘the client’ as the person or persons booking the session. These Terms and Conditions cannot be changed in any way by the client unless specifically requested and agreed by the photographer.

COPYRIGHT

All images or copies of images, however stored (digitally, printed, within computer programs or files) are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Therefore, no person should copy or use images for means other than personal use (printing, reproducing or displaying the photos for personal use).

WEBSITE DISPLAY & PROMOTIONAL USAGE

The client allows the photographer to display any photographs covered within this contract and to generally use photos for business promotion, for example on social media and websites. The photographer has the right to share the images in this way unless the client specifically asks the photographer not to, and this is agreed prior to the photo shoot.

BOOKING FEES & PAYMENT

Please see 'Pricing' for information about deposits. Electronic bank transfer is the preferred method of payment. The photographer will provide payment details upon booking. Please note no booking is secured until the deposit has been paid, and deposits are not refunded unless it is the photographer who cancels the booking.

REFUND POLICY

Wedding photography deposits are required to secure a specific date, and as such are non-refundable unless a cancellation is made at least one year prior to the wedding date. If for any reason the photographer is unexpectedly unable to fulfill a wedding photography commitment (e.g. due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances) the client can choose to opt for a full refund of services or the photographer will aim to source a replacement or associate where possible.

Photography sessions will not be refunded for any technically acceptable photographs, regardless of format supplied in, as the photographer cannot be held responsible for individual tastes. Deposits are not refundable unless it is the photographer who has cancelled the booking for any unexpected circumstance.

CANCELLATIONS

The photographer appreciates as much notice as possible for photo shoot cancellations. Please cancel at least 48 hour prior to the photo shoot where possible. If the photo shoot is in an outdoor location and the weather conditions are inappropriate (eg very strong winds, heavy rain), the photographer has the right to discuss rearranging the photo shoot for an alternative date.

LAW, LIABILITY AND LICENSE

These Terms and Conditions shall be overseen and interpreted in accordance with the Laws of England. The photographer cannot be held responsible for any personal accidents during a photographic shoot. Artistic license is granted to the photographer in terms of locations, poses, post-processing and retouching of images.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND IMAGES

The photographer aims to complete post-processing within two weeks of the date of the photo shoot and to inform the client within that time that the photos are ready to be seen. Wedding post-processing will be completed within two months from the date of the wedding. All images which are provided to the client will be in digital form, on a USB stick which will be posted to the client via 1st Class Recorded delivery (or collected from / delivered by the photographer if preferred and agreed). It is then the client’s choice to print / share / copy images as they wish.

STORAGE OF FILES

RAW (pre-edited) and edited files will be kept for one month by the photographer following the date of when the client has received their photographs. RAW files are the sole property of the photographer and will under no circumstances be shared with the client.

COMPLAINTS

If you are at all dissatisfied with the service received please raise any concerns to the photographer in the first instance.

Please note that these Terms and Conditions can be amended at any time without notice.
